Hi there Hollowers! It’s Jen up on the blog today sharing a card using the January subscription box. If you love reading and books (I do!) this box is for you!
Today I am creating a project with the clear binder that came in the box. This binder can be decorated in any number of ways, but today I used my go to products for plastic and non porouse surfaces….alcohol inks!
Best of all this is a really quick project to complete (not counting drying time).
I started out picking out my alcohol inks. I used Marabu alcohol inks for both the front of the binder and the back. On the front I used Magenta, Purple, and Glitter Pink/Gold. On the back I used Tangerine, Red Orange, White and Glitter Gold/Bronze. I applied the inks to the binder in the same way that I would apply to paper. I added color, then added some 91% isopropyl alcohol with a pipette and then used a baby nasal aspirator to move the color around. I added color until I achieved the look that I wanted.
After I was happy with the front of the binder I let it dry. I didn’t get back to my craft room for about a day and a half an it was plenty dry when I got back to it!

I flipped the journal over and inserted a white piece of cardstock on the inside of the binder to make sure that not too much of the ink would seep over to the front. This time I added colors and used the same process as the front except this time I used my heat gun to help speed up the drying time. I made sure to apply heat for only a couple of seconds and then removed it. I then let the binder dry for about an hour.

I created some papers to go inside the binder and used some of the stamps from the box to add to some of the pages. I’m super excited with how this turned out and I hope that you like it too!
I’d love to see your projects using this Subscription Box. You can post them on The Hedgehog Hollow Box Facebook group as well as Stamping at the Hedgehog Hollow Facebook group.
